LEGAL / SPONSORSHIP-TERMS

Sponsorship Terms

Last updated: 28 August 2026

These terms apply to every purchase of advertising territory on an OWNTHEAD campaign, operated by OWNTHEAD.

1. What you are buying

A defined rectangle of one campaign's shared composition, identified by grid reference (for example C8–D9) and by its physical size in millimetres. Your purchase includes:

  • display of your approved artwork on ownthead.com for the life of the campaign;
  • reproduction of that artwork, in that position, on the physical billboard if the campaign proceeds;
  • a permanent sponsor page and, after installation, photographic proof.

You are not buying ownership of any billboard, structure, land, or share of our company.

2. Price

Prices are computed server-side and shown in full before payment. The price is fixed at the moment you reserve, and does not change while your reservation is valid. Prices for unsold territory may rise as the billboard fills; that affects future purchases only, never yours.

3. Reservation and payment

Reserving territory holds it exclusively for a limited period shown on screen. If payment is not completed within that period the reservation lapses and the territory returns to sale.

Overlapping sales are prevented at the database level. In the rare case where a payment is confirmed after a reservation has already lapsed and the territory has been sold to someone else, we do not displace the earlier sponsor: your payment is refunded in full.

4. Approval

All artwork is reviewed by us against the Creative Guidelines before publication. The owner of the physical billboard may separately require changes or refuse artwork, in line with their own rules and applicable outdoor advertising regulation. Approval by us does not guarantee approval by them.

If artwork is refused and no compliant replacement is agreed, you are refunded in full.

5. Your licence to us

By submitting artwork you confirm that you own it or hold all rights needed to use it, including rights in any trademarks, photographs, fonts, and portraits it contains.

You grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence, for the duration of the campaign and its documentation, to display, reproduce, resize, print, and photograph your artwork for the purposes of running, printing, installing, documenting, and promoting the campaign. We may show photographs of the installed billboard, including your artwork, in later marketing of OWNTHEAD.

You keep ownership of your artwork. You may withdraw the licence for future use by asking us, but not retroactively for material already printed or photographed.

6. Neighbours

Your artwork will appear beside other advertisers we do not control and you have not chosen. We do not offer category exclusivity or veto over neighbouring sponsors.

7. The build threshold and upgrade levels

Each campaign publishes a minimum revenue at which the physical billboard proceeds, and may publish further levels which upgrade the placement — a larger format, a better position, a longer run, or additional sites. Upgrades apply to the whole composition and therefore to every sponsor already on it, at no extra cost.

Levels marked INDICATIVE are sized from public market rates and have not yet been priced by a media owner. We replace them with contracted figures before treating them as reached.

8. Final artwork window and lock

Physical printing requires a fixed deadline. When a campaign reaches its threshold we open a final sales window with a published end date, after which the composition is frozen, sales stop, and an immutable version is recorded. Corrections after that point create a new version with an audit trail; they never silently alter the frozen one.

9. No audience guarantee

We do not guarantee impressions, views, footfall, or any commercial outcome, unless a specific figure is stated in a separate written contract with you.

10. If the campaign does not happen

See the Refund / Campaign Failure Policy, which forms part of these terms.

11. Consumers

If you buy as a consumer rather than for business purposes, you may have a statutory right of withdrawal under EU and Italian consumer law. Because the service is performed by publishing your artwork, you may be asked to consent to immediate performance and to acknowledge that you lose that right once your artwork is published. Under article 59 of the Italian Codice del Consumo, that consent is what removes the right, and it is asked for explicitly at checkout rather than buried here. Until your artwork is published you keep the right to withdraw, and you can ask for it by email.
